My Between the Sea and Sky cover! I finally get to show it off!



I saw this cover at BEA so it's been a long wait to get to flash it everywhere. I love the colors sooo much, and the romantic watery feel of it. My editor gave me a printout and some of you may recall that I carried it everywhere for the next couple months...

It IS a little embarrassing* to have a mermaid book coming out in 2011, the year of the mermaid books apparently, but...I love this book a lot, and I think it's really more a book about a mermaid than a mermaid book. It's the kind of book I'd pick up on a cozy day when I wanted something romantic and slightly funny to cheer me up (okay, embarrassingly I'll admit I've actually read it a few times already when I didn't actually have to, for just that reason...) so I hope somewhere out there is a reader who will feel the same.

Also, I never realized until writing it how much it would be totally sweet to have a winged boyfriend who has a secret spot for picking wild mushrooms... Winged dude = foodie perks.

(*Not embarrassing because of the mermaids. I adore mermaids! I'm terribly excited to read all the other mermaid books! I just hate it when people think I wrote things to trend, because you know, I have that obnoxious issue where I always have to be different. I should probably get over it because I don't know what music the cool kids are listening to anymore either.)
